Amsterdam-based sustainability-focused digital education platform Earth Academy announced today the appointment of senior sustainability executives Tim Mohin and Dr. Pieter Smeets to its Advisory Board. In their new roles, Mohin and Smeets will advise the academy’s management on the strategic partnership, content, and market insights.

Mohin served from 2017 to 2020 as Chief Executive of leading sustainability reporting standards organization the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). He currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer at Persefoni, an AI platform aimed at enabling organizations and institutional investors to measure and reduce their carbon footprint. Mohin has also held senior sustainability-related roles at companies including AMD, Apple and Intel, and in US Federal Government positions in in the Environmental Protection Agency and the United States Senate.

Mohin said:

Smeets currently serves as Senior Manager for Industrial Sustainability at Saudi Arabian multinational chemical manufacturing company SABIC, managing a team of engineers and specialists responsible for executing the renewable energy program, climate change strategy towards Science-Based Targets, and supporting ESG disclosures at the company. The team also supports the KSA Ministry of Energy in G20 and other external events related to sustainability.

Smeets said:
