S&P Global Appoints Fred Samama as Head of Strategic Development for Sustainable1
Leading credit ratings, benchmarks and analytics provider S&P Global announced today the appointment of Fred Samama as Head of Strategic Development for Sustainable1, its recently launched ESG and sustainability-focused group.
In his new role, Samama will be responsible for leading engagement with the firm’s clients to assess and evaluate their climate and ESG needs. Samama will also collaborate across S&P Global to drive the development and implementation of solutions aimed at supporting corporates, investors and governments to navigate and realize the net zero and sustainability transition.
S&P Global launched Sustainable1 in April 2021, creating an integrated group for the company’s full suite of sustainability offerings, including its benchmarking, analytics, evaluations, and indices products and solutions. The group serves as a single source for the ESG products, insights and solutions from all four S&P Global divisions, S&P Dow Jones Indices, S&P Global Market Intelligence, S&P Global Platts, and S&P Global Ratings.

Samama joins S&P Global from CPR Asset Management (CPR AM), the thematic equities arm of the largest European asset manager Amundi, where he served as Chief Responsible Investment Officer. He joined Amundi in 2009, serving in roles including Head of Responsible Investment and Co-Head of Institutional and Sovereign Clients.
