EcoVadis Launches New CSRD Supply Chain Data Collection Solution
Business sustainability ratings and solutions provider EcoVadis announced today the launch of CSRD Questionnaire, a new tool aimed at enabling companies to gather data from suppliers in order to comply with the reporting requirements of the EU’s new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
The CSRD is a major update to the EU’s sustainability reporting framework, significantly expanding the number of companies required to provide sustainability disclosures to over 50,000 from around 12,000, in addition to thousands of large companies with business in the EU. Based on new underlying European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), the CSRD introduces more detailed reporting requirements on companies’ impacts on the environment, human rights, and social standards, and for sustainability-related risks, requiring significant amounts of data to be collected from across company supply chains.
According to EcoVadis, the new solution aims to address key data collection and analysis challenges facing companies in their efforts to comply with the CSRD requirements, particularly those requiring engagement with suppliers who my be unfamiliar with the CSRD or facing internal resource constraints.
Forming part of EcoVadis’ risk and sustainability management solution suite, the new questionnaire covers all mandatory CSRD supply chain data that requires direct supplier input, and aligns with the ESRS, and allows users to invite suppliers to complete the questionnaire, free of charge. EcoVadis’ sustainability solutions suite can also generate an audit-ready CSRD report by automatically aggregating and analyzing supply chain data from across users’ EcoVadis solutions including the CSRD questionnaire, as well as solutions such as IQ Plus, Ratings, Academy, and others.
Pierre-Francois Thaler, EcoVadis co-founder and co-CEO, said:
“Thousands of companies are required to report on sustainability data that include environmental factors like greenhouse gas emissions, water usage and biodiversity impact, as well as social aspects like workforce diversity and labor standards. Those who fall behind on regulatory disclosure risk facing financial, reputational and competitive losses to those who get it right. The CSRD questionnaire is a right-fit regulatory tool that is part of a powerful due diligence foundation for companies of any size, and at any stage in their sustainability journey, to help them keep pace with complex disclosure requirements.”
