BlackRock Appoints Louise Kooy-Henckel as EMEA Head of Sustainable and Transition Solutions
Investment giant BlackRock announced today the appointment of Louise Kooy-Henckel as EMEA Head of Sustainable and Transition Solutions.
Based in London and reporting to Global Head of STS Helen Lees-Jones, responsible for leading the firm’s efforts in sustainable and transition investing in the EMEA region.
In an internal memo announcing the appointment, Lees-Jones and Stephen Cohen, Chief Product Officer at BlackRock, said:
“We are delighted that Louise Kooy-Henckel joins BlackRock as EMEA Head of Sustainable and Transition Solutions (STS) to lead the team and our growth in a region where client demand for sustainable and transition investing is greatest. 100% of our largest client relationships in Europe have made net zero commitments for their organizations.”
Prior to joining BlackRock, Kooy-Henckel served as Managing Director and Investment Director, Sustainable and Impact Investments, EMEA at Wellington Management, responsible for leading ESG research and integration, impact investing, climate, and long-term engagement strategies, and for oversight of portfolio positioning, performance, and risk exposures for the firm’s impact investment approaches. Before joining Wellington Management, she spent nearly 20 years at JPMorgan Asset Management, including serving as head of the Global Equities client portfolio management team.
BlackRock’s platform includes more than 500 sustainable and transition investment strategies, and the firm manages over $1 trillion of sustainable and transition assets for clients.
Lees-Jones and Cohen added:
