As Sustainable Finance Grows, Barclays Builds Up ESG Investment Banking Team
Clearly sensing that recent growth trends in sustainable finance will continue, financial services firm Barclays has announced several senior appointments, reallocating significant resources to its ESG investment banking advisory practice. Barclays’ new appointments cover multiple investment banking areas including Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Sustainable and Impact Banking, and Leveraged Finance.

Barclays’ new appointments include:
Justin Peagram. Managing Director Justin Peagram is joining Barclays’ Sustainable and Impact Banking (SIB) team, after spending 13 years in the Natural Resources Banking team, where he covered clients in the upstream, midstream and infrastructure sectors. Peagram will focus on sustainable energy and other emerging growth areas, where he will lead Barclays’ efforts in identifying and covering emerging growth companies whose businesses and platforms span the spectrum of clean energy, from new technologies and energy sources, to energy transition and related infrastructure requirements.
Amit Chandra. Equity Capital Markets (ECM) Managing Director Amit Chandra will lead the Sustainable and Impact Banking effort in the Americas. The team will lead ECM’s efforts to identify and originate equity solutions for companies whose businesses are focused on solving environmental issues.
Greg Cass and Atul Jhavar. Debt Capital Markets (DCM) Directors Cass and Jhavar will join Barclays’ Green & Sustainable Capital Markets team, with responsibility for the investment bank’s green, social and sustainability debt financing business for investment grade clients in the Americas and Asia-Pacific.
Alex Dyroff and Eldar Pius. Leveraged Finance investment bankers Dyroff and Pius have been appointed to serve as ESG ambassadors in Barclays’ Leveraged Finance business, Dyroff in the Americas,, and Pius in Europe and the Middle East.
