Singapore Exchange Appoints Herry Cho as Head of Sustainability and Sustainable Finance
Market infrastructure and exchange provider Singapore Exchange (SGX) announced today that it has appointed Herry Cho to the newly created position of Managing Director, Head of Sustainability and Sustainable Finance.
In her new role, Cho will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of SGX’s ESG ambitions, and further broadening and deepening its sustainable finance pillars. According to SGX, this will include delivering on SGX’s commitment to improve the ecosystem through collaboration by actively building partnerships and networks to enhance industry cooperation and knowledge in sustainable development, as well as advancing the development of SGX’s ESG solutions and regulatory support for its stakeholders. Cho will also champion sustainability practices within SGX.
Prior to joining SGX, Cho worked for more than 13 years at ING, most recently serving as Director, Head of Sustainable Finance Asia-Pacific, where she founded the Sustainable Finance Asia Pacific team, and led the firm’s sustainability strategy and direction for the region. In addition, Cho serves on the International Markets Association (ICMA) as a Green Bond Principles Executive Committee Board member, and as chair of the Green Eligibility Criteria working group, and sustainability lead for the APAC regional committee.
